Career Development
I am very glad we are spending a little time going over our career options and how to get a job and what not. I am an elementary education major along with everyone else. This is a very popular major which in return makes it very difficult to get a job once you graduate. Of course people have told me how it is going to be a pain in the butt and what not, but I believe that if that is what you want to do with the rest of you life, you should be willing to go through the pain. I am currently taking general psychology and I am really enjoying it. In the back of my head, I am thinking if I want to change majors. Reading this article helped me in a way. By telling me more or less to follow my heart of what I want to do and not listening to others. The career development talk helped a little bit. My school went over a lot of the interviewing skills she was teaching. Both of these career topics has helped me pay more attention to doing something I really love. I still am not sure what I want to do, but we'll see. This will be in the back of my head.

I have always wanted to be an elementary school teacher, and everyone tells me the same thing about how its going to be hard to get a job. I feel like if you don't follow your heart then you won't be happy with your career so do what you makes you happy.

ReplyDeleteI have to say I agree with you about still not knowing what i want to do! I also I have to say that I too am very happy that we are talking about our career options and what not because it is still something that I am somewhat unsure about.
ReplyDeleteI feel like people think they are being helpful by saying oh you know if will be hard to get a job, but since thats your major im sure you already know that. Instead i think people should be more positive with how they react and say things like im proud of you for doing what you have always wanted to and reaching your goal.
